Brisbane venues that have us saying "I Do!"

What makes the perfect wedding venue? With non-traditional weddings leading bridal trends around the world, wedding venues are no longer a one-dress-fits-all affair. Whether you’re looking for dreamy photo ops, a dancefloor big enough for the wedding of the century, or a low-key intimate reception that won’t break the bank, we’ve gathered (here today) 🤣 some of our favourite Brisbane venues that have us saying, “I do!”.

The Calile Hotel

Unless you’ve been living in a social media free love bubble, you probably know someone who’s said their “I do’s” at The Calile hotel. This stunning James Street location has earned its title as one of Brisbane’s best wedding venues with its stunning aesthetic, trending location, and luxe spaces that will bring your vision to life. Whether you want your guests arriving to poolside canapes and cocktails, a gala sized reception, or a private sit down dinner, there are architecturally designed spaces to suit your every need, as well as a dedicated events team to ensure your walk down the aisle is stress free. Not to mention the boutique onsite accommodation for the wedding night of your dreams.

Perfect for newlyweds whose love language is food, Agnes is a showstopping example of contemporary Australian hospitality that welcomes smaller wedding celebrations to their blink-and-you-might-miss-it pocket in Fortitude Valley. The former warehouse has been transformed into a dark and intimate dining experience that showcases curated menus that pay homage to the culinary skill of cooking over fire. Making it the perfect venue to celebrate your big day with a sit down dinner accompanied by 60 of your nearest and dearest.

High Church

If you’ve ever taken a stroll through Brisbane’s Fortitude Valley, you’ve probably noticed the shining white chapel on Brunswick Street. Boasting dreamy high ceilings, antique chandeliers and iconic stained glass windows, this Brisbane mainstay (which has been around since the 1870’s) has recently become a wedding hotspot for those wanting to tie the knot. The experienced onsite team coordinates everything from styling your ceremony to the catering menus, which is perfect for go-with-the-flow couples. The icing on the (wedding) cake for this venue is the outdoor rooftop bar which offers glimpses of the Story Bridge, as well as a dance floor big enough to throw the bouquet.

Howard Smith Wharves

Waterfront venue in the heart of the CBD? Check. Spaces to suit every kind of wedding? Check. A team who will write your vows for you? Ah, we will come back to you on that one! While the events team aren’t able to help you confess your love to your betrothed, the people behind these picturesque venue spaces work tirelessly to ensure your day goes off without a hitch, so you can focus on the details that matter to you. If food is an experience for you, the culinary team behind HSW are able to curate delicious organic menus inspired by the precinct’s waterfront restaurants - we’re looking at you Greca!

Brisbane Courthouse

One of the newest trends to take over from the traditional route, courthouse weddings are increasingly being favoured by “IT couples’ around the world. Perfect for those after a low-key affair, this budget friendly option is ideal if you’re wanting to skip the Best man’s speech, and get right down to the important stuff with your partner (and those who you want to bare witness to your special moment). Make sure you do your research before the big day, as there is some paperwork that will need to be completed in the courthouse. Once the formalities are done, you’re officially hitched! Celebrate wherever your heart desires, with some of Brisbane’s best restaurants only being a short stroll away.

The Lussh

One of Wooloongabba’s best kept secrets, The Lussh is one of our favourite new venues. Headed by the fashionable founder of Queensland label DISSH, this stunning space brings another level of opulence to your nuptials. With the building’s rich history reflected throughout the venue, The Lussh offers a unique and picturesque private garden, nestled between a striking cliff face and lush date palms, where many happy couples have exchanged vows. With packages and different pricing tiers, there’s an option that suits every budget, especially those considering a mid-week wedding.

The Borrowed Nursery

A wedding, at a nursery? We know, but hear us out. This super cute nursery in Windsor is a venue for those with vision. The Borrowed Nursery can accommodate an intimate guest list of up to 40 friends and family, with the quirky little venue providing a stunning green-thumb backdrop for your wedding. The lemon scented outdoor garden allows for guests to be as minimal/maximal with event styling as they want, with room for external catering or a food truck, making this a savvy venue option for those wanting to recreate a garden party soiree. Pink lemonade anyone?
